David Sheppard
Law Enforcement Leader and Community Advocate
David grew up in public housing on Chicago’s South Side, raised by a single mother who taught him discipline and faith. With help from mentors and his own determination, he avoided the pitfalls that surrounded him and built a 28-year career in law enforcement. He worked in corrections, patrol, investigations, and eventually became Chief of the Robbins Police Department.
As a father of five, including a child with non-verbal autism, David understands the challenges families face. When the local school system failed to support his child, he ran for and won a seat on the District 124 School Board, where he fights for students and parents.
David’s story is one of perseverance, service, and commitment to his community.
